Heaven is your hometown

“Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jews. But now my kingdom is from another place.”
John 18:36

No matter how many fights you win, the crowd will always be yelling the loudest for your opponent. Why? You are not fighting in your hometown. Jesus stepped out of Heaven and won the championship for humanity in the enemies’ hometown. Until that final bell rings, we must also face the enemy in his hometown. By hosting the “good fight” in the hometown of the enemy, God holds our attention. Just because the majority of the crowd is yelling for our opponents, it does not mean that we don’t have legions of heavenly fans chanting our name. Angels are gathering around the eternal video screen in our hometown cheering our every move.

We are not happy fighting here because we are not in our hometown. We are not happy here because we are not supposed to be happy here. We are “…as aliens and strangers in the world” (1 Pet. 2:11)…

And we will never be completely happy on earth simply because we were not made for earth. Oh, we will have our victories. We will catch glimpses of the championship. We will know rounds of peace. However, they simply do not compare with the happiness that lies ahead.

Remember, it is called a fight for a reason. However, we fight from victory, not for victory. Keep Fighting!
