Our Champion

“For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have
one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are–yet was without sin”.
Hebrews 4:15

It’s as if he knows that we will say to God…: “God, it’s easy for you up there. You don’t know how hard the punches are down here.” So he boldly proclaims Jesus’ ability to understand the nature of the fight we face. Look at the wording again.

He himself. Not an angel. Not and ambassador. Not an emissary, but Jesus himself steps out of heaven and into the cage of life to defeat death at the cross.

Shared fully. Not partially. Not nearly. Not to a large degree. Entirely! Jesus went the distance. He did not tap out. He showed up every day to training camp and shed blood sparring with the religious leaders in order to give us eternal victory.

In all our experience. Every hurt. Every punch, kick and takedown. All the stresses and all the strains. No exceptions. No substitutes. Why? So he could sympathize with our weaknesses. He will never put us into a fight that he has not already given us the power to win.

Remember, it is called a fight for a reason. However, we fight from victory, not for victory. Keep Fighting!
