Serpent vs. Man
Round 1
The fighters circled in the center of the Cage of Life, patiently waiting for the other to strike. The serpent got off first with a low kick and a left hook of doubt(Genesis 3:1). Solid low kick landed for Serpent. Man rushed forward and teed off with a flurry (Genesis 3:2). The Serpent was hurt but he recovered quickly. Right straight landed for Man. One-two landed for Man. Serpent countered with a right hook of deception and smiled (Genesis 3:4). Round ends.
Judges score: 10-9 Man.
Round 2
Serpent swung for the fences to start round two. Serpent, bleeding from his right ear, looks wilder with his striking tonight then usual. Two pride body kicks found their target for Serpent (Genesis 3:5). Serpent picked up the pace and landed a powerful right hand. Serpent then sent Man to the canvas with another right hand (Genesis 3:6). Man managed to get up on his feet and stepped forward in the pocket long enough to get knocked out by the left hook of shame (Genesis 3:7).
After reading the above analogy, it is easy to see how the spiritual fight we face inside the cage of life compares to the physical fight inside the cage of mixed martial arts. Just as a MMA fighter has to be prepared to face whatever the enemy throws at him during the match, Anointed Fighters must also be prepared in the spiritual realm.
Fighters in the natural realm work to decieve their opponent by executing what is called a feint. A feint is used to decieve the opponent with a fake punch or any offensive movement to get them to react and move out of his good offensive position opening himself up to your real attack. In the Garden of Eden, the Serpent utilized a spiritual feint to get Eve to drop her guard long enough for him to knock her and all of mankind out. In order to not fall prey to the evil one inside the Cage of Life, it is critical that Anointed Fighters keep their guard up at all times during the good fight.
Remember, it is called a fight for a reason. However, we fight from victory not for victory. KEEP FIGHTING!
Prayer: Righteous Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, please help me keep my guard up through your word during the heat of battle. AMEN
